# Use the GridMail AI Assistant

GridMail AI Assistant is included with every mailbox. There is no separate API key or installation.

## What AI Assist can do

- **Draft:** expand notes or bullet points into a complete email.
- **Reply:** suggest a response relevant to the conversation.
- **Summarize:** condense long email threads into key points.

## Where to find AI Assist

Look for **AI Assist** in Compose and Reply windows, or alongside messages when summarizing threads. Enhanced mailboxes with document editing may also offer AI assistance in the document editor.

If AI Assist is missing, ask your administrator to enable the AI permission for your account.

GridMail uses a managed AI provider; according to the GridMail user guide, messages are not used to train public AI models. Fair-use limits apply.
